Peer Review Process
Peer Review Process
Authors must submit their manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system to be considered for publication in Research on Education. All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous peer review process using a double-blind review system, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the evaluation. The journal only publishes articles that have been reviewed and approved by qualified experts in the relevant field, with a minimum of two independent reviewers assigned to each manuscript.
The review process consists of the following stages:
- Initial Submission: Authors submit their manuscripts through the online system in accordance with the journal’s guidelines and formatting requirements.
- Editorial Screening: The editorial team conducts an initial evaluation to assess the manuscript’s suitability in terms of scope, originality, academic quality, and adherence to submission guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage.
- Reviewer Assignment: Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two reviewers with relevant expertise in the field of education.
- Double-Blind Peer Review: Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on criteria such as originality, methodology, clarity, significance, and contribution to the field. They provide constructive feedback and recommendations: acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection.
- Author Revision: Authors are required to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewers’ comments and resubmit the revised version within the specified timeframe.
- Second Review (if necessary): Revised manuscripts may be returned to the reviewers for further evaluation to ensure that all concerns have been adequately addressed.
- Final Decision: The editor makes the final decision based on reviewers’ recommendations and the quality of revisions. The decision may be acceptance, further revision, or rejection.
- Copyediting and Publication: Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, proofreading, and final formatting before publication.
